Assistant Commissioner Chris Allison has been an officer with the Metropolitan Police for most of his twenty-seven year career. He was appointed National Olympic Security Coordinator in 2009 and is responsible for delivering the national safety and security plan. As the UK’s largest ever peace-time policing operation, it will impact on every police force in the country. Drawing from a dedicated Home Office budget, Allison’s ambition is to police the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games with unarmed British ‘bobbies’ as far as possible.
