Australian-born David Higgins (left) was chief executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) from 2006 to 2011 with responsibility for the design and construction of the London 2012 venues and infrastructure. Ian Galloway (centre) brought his experience of large-scale infrastructure projects to his position as head of the construction consortium, CLM, that was created to work on the 2012 bid. ODA Chair Sir John Armitt (right), a former civil engineer, joined the organisation following his retirement as chief executive of Network Rail in 2007 and worked closely with Higgins on ODA strategy.
‘The genius of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is David Higgins. He is building the Olympic Park on budget and on time.’
