Welsh swimmer David Roberts is one of Britain's greatest Paralympians, with a total of eleven gold, four silver and one bronze medal in the last three successive Paralympic Games.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of eleven, Roberts started swimming at his local club as part of his physiotherapy programme. In Sydney 2000 he won four gold medals. He competed in ten separate events at Athens 2004 and broke his own record twice in one day in Beijing 2008. At London 2012 he aspires to become the UK's most successful Paralympian, overtaking Tanni Grey-Thompson's current record.
"My dad was my biggest inspiration and my biggest encouragement as well." David Roberts
