Teenage sprinter Ola Abidogun made his international debut in 2009, and was invited to join the UK Athletics Association World Class Performance programme.

In April 2011 Abidogun won 100m and 200m titles at the IWAS World Junior Championships for the second year running. A month later he marked his entry on the senior stage by winning gold and silver medals at the Paralympic World Cup. Bolton-based Abidogun started running at school and joined Horwich RMI Harriers, his local athletics club. He now trains alongside able-bodied athletes at the Reebok Stadium.

‘I admire Usain Bolt for his attitude… most people expect sprinters to be very serious people on the line, Usain Bolt tends to inject a bit of fun.’ Ola Abidogun
